Chase the dream of a lifetime

The title Super 8 refers to the Super 8 cm camera, which is the machine used by the children to shoot zombie movies in the film.

Many people say that the special effects of this film are not amazing, etc., but I think this is a rare film of Spielberg with a simple heart. It can be seen that the director did not think deeply about the common themes such as alien life, innocent love, and government and social contradictions, but seemed to be casual. His purpose of making this film, or his personal purpose, is to miss the movie dream he has pursued since he was a child. All other elements are just a layer of packaging.

Recalling my childhood yearning for movies and my lifelong pursuit of ideals, these dreams have now come true. I believe that he must have made this movie with full of pride and sense of accomplishment. The various skills in the play are in stark contrast with the crude and naive films made by the children. However, it is just such a naive work. The heart behind the incomparable love for movies eventually made Spielberg a great master.

Dreams make people look forward to, those who chase dreams move people, and the final realization of dreams makes people admire. Tribute to the dream catchers of the world!

I sincerely hope that more Chinese people can have their own dreams and have the opportunity to chase their dreams...

Pure complex and tribute works, there are too many NERD MOVIE elements in the 1980s, and there are eggs for genre movies, cults, and B movies everywhere. Although the subject matter is old-fashioned, but under JJ's hands, it seems extraordinarily authentic, interesting, and unstoppable. The smooth narrative, diverse mirroring, and suspense creation are all standard stylized creations. For GEEKs who are still obsessed with nostalgic movies, this is the best gift in the past few years.

Mahler next door! Borrowing a word from the beloved Director Ao, after reading it, my whole person was embarrassed and got out of this world! I really haven't seen such a fucking movie. Do you know why big monsters hate humans so much? In fact, it was because everyone in the crew took turns to put their heads in its chrysanthemums during the whole filming process! This movie really deserves its name! --Super Eight--Cao Ji Ba--!

Super 8 quotes

  • Alice Dainard: What was that necklace? The one you were holding at the train crash. Was it your mom's?

Joe Lamb: My dad gave it to her the day I was born. She wears it all the time. Well, used to. And... It was bad how she died and... But my dad got it back.

  • Joe Lamb: [old home movies of Joe's late mother playing] It's... It's so weird. Watching her like this. Like she's still here. She used to look at me this way, like really look, and I just knew I was there, that I existed.

Alice Dainard: He drank that morning, My dad. He missed his shift.

    [Alice begins to cry]

Alice Dainard: Your mom took it for him, the day of the accident,

    [long pauses. Fighting back tears]

Alice Dainard: He... He, um... He... He wishes... I know he wishes it was him instead of her. And sometimes I do, too.

Joe Lamb: Don't... Don't say that. He's your dad.
