A great attempt and a could-have-been masterpiece

This movie was made for aliens to know about Earth and human society.

Yes, Alexandre Desplat's music definitely gave me multiple orgasms.

And no, the second eldest son in the movie is NOT Brat Pitt's son in real life.

Back to some serious stuff. The movie kept reminding me of Kubrick's 2001 from the very beginning. The sound track was blood-pumping, majestic and all. The cinematography was absolutely gorgeous. And I loved the controlled emotional struggles in the movie and the precious love for others and the respect for grace. But the story telling was somewhat discontinuous and lack of fluency. As a feature film(is it?), the structure was a little too avant garde and loose.

But I'll say this movie was one of its own kind. And you have to see it in cinema. Don't try to figure out the movie. The movie was intended to let YOU figure out YOUR life after watching this.

Either one star or five stars.

In the beginning, the universe was prehistoric. Teacher Zhao Zhongxiang's soul is running on the screen, saying in a vigorous baritone that there should be light, so there is light. God sees light is good. Separate light from darkness, call light as electricity, and darkness as shadow. Create a movie, this is the first day. Create Coca-Cola on the second day, hamburgers on the third day, and National Geographic magazine on the fourth day... The director said, there must be people who understand them. So I took my own ribs and created an American audience with tears in my eyes pounding on the screen and shouting that I understand, I understand...
