Digital Kingdom, that's all (What's the sign for boredom?)

I haven't read the novel, so I can only talk about what is expressed in the movie.

Numbers, mysterious symbols.
But it is different from mathematics. Mathematics is the architect of life.

The film shows a girl who has been gifted in mathematics since childhood, but grows up to become a woman who irrationally pinned her father's dim hope of spiritual recovery on numbers. Even God suddenly thought that the uncle next door with a different number every day indicates the probability of his father getting sick.

It's a wonderful subject, but what the screen brings to us is only the golden number that the heroine taps and splashes when she is nervous: 3.14159... The golden section is indeed very mysterious, but how did the golden section appear, and what is it related to? Can the heroine's beating anywhere be inexplicably related to pi?

And looking for Math&Material in nature with 3rd graders is too naive to imagine it was conceived by an adult woman with a math paranoid. I didn't see her passion, communication and emotional sustenance for mathematics.

It's not so much that the heroine passes mathematics, oh no, numbers, and finally faces reality and gives up her extravagant hopes for her father. It is better to say that it was learned from the little girl Lisa.

For me, in the whole film, I can't see A Beautiful Mind that belongs to mathematics. The so-called number kingdom is just ten characters from 0 to 9.

A story of a neurotic heroine who is extremely sensitive to numbers and a group of children who are also neurotic. I didn't understand what it was, but I just remembered that it took nearly half a year to read it off and on on the ipad, which is also a record.

An Invisible Sign quotes

  • Lisa: [about Mona's nervous knocking habit] Why do you do it?

Mona Gray: Why? Um... I do it when I feel... Alone.

Lisa: Then that's why I do it. I want to be like you.

Mona Gray: Don't do that. Don't be like me.

Lisa: [starting to cry] But I'm alone. I'm all alone.

  • Mr. Jones: I left the store open, I sold my car, all because of 42. Who gives a damn about anything else when you're wearing a 42?
