When human society is destroyed, it is not technology that can rebuild civilization.

I like this movie very much, although many people find it a bit dull.

When I first saw the introduction to the movie, I guessed that the legendary "Book of Avery" was a cheat book, perhaps a book of prehistoric civilization.

But when I really watched this film, I felt that what really caused the destruction of human society should be the degradation of human nature.

I have an extraordinary rationality for morality in life. I have used a long time to separate the concepts of "public morality" and "private morality", and believe that the so-called social morality means not hindering others in life, and personal morality It is to benefit others on this basis.

However, this is not a movie about ethics and morality, but it makes people unable to think about some issues. When the whole society is in a kind of degeneration of human nature, the only way to rebuild society is to rebuild humanity. Therefore, it is not surprising that the so-called "Book of Avery" is the Bible.

The Bible is not a book, but a microcosm of human civilization. Belief is very mysterious, especially for Chinese people. I remember a teacher said that China is a nation without beliefs, so shamelessness can be regarded as commonplace. Once I wanted to refute, but found that I couldn't find a suitable reason.

The destruction of humanity in the movie is through a war. This may be a metaphor. Since war can destroy human nature, does it mean that human nature is fragile? Perhaps, the scene in the movie is really in the near future.

There is always a salvation plot in American movies, where one person can save a group of people or the whole world. In fact, I also believe that human nature is inherently good. If a person knows that he can save the world, then I believe that most people will not go for nothing.

Write it indiscriminately by yourself, just look at it casually.

The Book of Eli quotes

  • Eli: They say the war tore a hole in the sky, you've probably heard the stories.

    Solara: Yeah.

Eli: The war tore a hole in the sky, the sun came down, burnt everything, everyone, I wandered, I didn't really know what I should do or where I was going. I was just moving from place to place, trying to stay alive. And then one day I heard this voice. I don't know how to explain it, it's like it was coming from inside me. But I could hear it clear as day. Clear as I can hear you talking to me now. It told me to carry the book west, it told me that a path would be laid out before me, that I'd be led to a place where the book would be safe. It told me I'd be protected, against anyone or anything that tried to stand in my way. If only I would have faith. That was thirty years ago and I've been walking ever since.

Solara: And you did all this because a voice told you to?

Eli: I know what I hear, I know what I heard, I know I'm not crazy, I didn't imagine it

  • Hoyt: [seeing two dead hijackers] It's like he's protected somehow. Like there's nothing that can touch him

Carnegie: Oh, he's just a fucking man. You put a bullet in him, he'll go down like any other.
