The Town-8/10

Xiaoben's self-directed and self-acted film is not bad. The excitement at the beginning of the film reminds me of The Dark Knight. The progress of the storyline is basically smooth. Three robberies are more exciting than one. Xiaoben's definition of police and gangsters is a bit Heat back then. It’s hard not to sweat for this gang of bandits while watching. It must also be mentioned that Jeremy Renner once again conquered me after The Hurt Locker. I don’t know if such a role played in his true colors, or how could he be so vivid. He completely grabbed the small book of the scene. . Xiaoben's films have been quite satisfactory so far, and I hope he can break through in inspiration.

The sadness of Jeremy's death... The ending is very literary, [but I know I'll see you again. This Side Or The Other.]

Not bad, I wrote, directed and acted myself, but my acting skills were a bit poor. Although two and a half hours is a bit long, I don't feel bored, and the characters are well-drawn, not a simple and unnutritious Hollywood crime movie. But I don't know if I haven't slept well, and the climax part seems to be a little under-heated. Maybe 2.5 hours is not long enough for the director

The Town quotes

  • Doug MacRay: I need your help. I can't tell you what it is, you can never ask me about it later, and we're gonna hurt some people.

James Coughlin: ...Whose car are we gonna' take?

  • Claire Keesey: Did you say your name was Jim or Gem?

James Coughlin: Well, huh, it's kinda both. The teacher's use to always say, "Here take this one. He's a gem."
