Recently, "Rise of the Apes" has been very popular, and it has been well received in both commercial and literary aspects, so I really want to see similar films. When I was in junior high school or elementary school, I watched the old version of "Planet of the Apes" on TV. At that time, this film shocked me very strongly. I can still remember the plot in the film, and of course there is a very cute one. (well, since I can remember blondes, I should have seen them in middle or high school...), the astronauts and spaceships at the beginning of the film, the monkey costumes at the back, and the ruins of the Statue of Liberty at the end, really I was shocked. When I found out that the director of this new version of the film is Tim and the lead actor is the screw, I quickly watched the film.
As a result, I saw lively monkey generals, expressionless male protagonists, wide-open scenes, and some charming ape makeup. Other than that, it's basically nothing shocking. In fact, I think it is better for human beings to discover that the Planet of the Apes is the Earth, not some messy planet. Although this is also expressed at the end of the film, it is completely like a patchwork. The old version echoes very well. Well, Planet of the Apes should have added some doubts, but this film just misplaced the doubts.
Is it true that Tim can't make good things without Depp? Or is it that remakes are not suitable for an artist like him?
