It's not skill, it's style

The chattering Italian, the occasional English subtitles are mixed with the occasional Chinese subtitles~~ I seriously doubt that the subtitles are created by translation software. Arrest is translated into "accusation", and confession is translated into "accusation"... The Chinese and English subtitles are also out of place~~ I read it by half-familiar faces in English and half-guessing the storyline. It is also in line with the fact that this movie was shot under extremely difficult conditions, and it is only after watching it under extremely difficult conditions to experience the taste.
I will think of those revolutionary films I saw when I was a child, all of which have the shadow of this film, which shows its influence. It's just that I didn't see the humor and enduring of ordinary people when I was a kid. Our story is nothing but hatred of the enemy and great and lofty goals because we have great leaders.
The sense of humor is really not something that can be found casually. Our nation may lack this kind of thing. The culture of thousands of years does not like us to indulge, and does not like to indulge our minds. Always bear responsibility and mission.
There are several places where people can't stop laughing, and then people are moved almost to tears. The priest went to the joint, fiddled with the sculptures of Venus (like) and Jesus, the whistling priest at another joint, the paralyzed old man who was stunned by a pan and pretended to be overwhelmed... The group of children just made an explosion, and they called each other solemnly. Comrade, then go home and get beaten up one by one before entering the door, and the whole building is crying... It
is only miserable when the woman who is about to get married is killed on the street, but then people gather in the church where the wedding was planned to attend the funeral Sadness comes from it. The priest finally faced execution, and the children gathered outside the barbed wire to watch silently...
The analysis skills of this film are superfluous. The mise-en-scène...a different way to tell a movie's story. In fact, Chinese left-wing films in the 1930s already had many similar themes, but the pursuit of real scenes and scenes was not like this. Realism originated from reflection after the war on the one hand, and conditions on the other. Films made by underfunded directors are clearly skewed towards this style.

  • Major Bergman: Then I'll tell you who he is. He's subversive, he's fought with the Reds in Spain. His life is dedicated to fighting society, religion. He is an atheist... your enemy...

Don Pietro: I am a Catholic priest. I believe that those who fight for justice and truth walk in the path of God and the paths of God are infinite

  • Major Bergman: I've a man who must talk before dawn and a priest who is praying for him. He'll talk

    Hartman: And if not?

    Major Bergman: Ridiculous.

    Hartman: And if not?

Major Bergman: Then it would mean an Italian is worth as much as a German. It would mean there is no difference in the blood of a slave race and a master race. And no reason for this war.
