Yesterday's war and today's war

When Bruno finally knew the truth, he died. Fortunately, he went to heaven with his friends. I think this is the best way out for him. There was no pure land during the war, and he was either tormented physically or mentally.
Only his death can let his father know that all this is a sin, not a sacrifice for the country. I hate the so-called fight for the country without thinking. Because when the country starts with indoctrination, there is no room for you to think, that is, the country ignores individual thoughts. If this country does not even give its own people the right to think, there is no justice.
There is one detail in the movie that really shocked me. At grandma's funeral, my mother saw the fascist sign on grandma's tombstone. She said that grandma would not like it and asked her husband to remove it. But the husband said "he does". The woman began to resist, but began to cry. I think women have realized that they will be treated like this at their future funerals. There is also an indictment of contempt for women's rights here. A woman always believes her husband's words at home, obeys her husband's words, and loses her own judgment. When a woman finally wakes up, she has no right to fight for the justice she thinks. In the influx of the times, it is easy to give up one's conscious rights, but it is so difficult to obtain and practice it.
The film tells about the change in the angle of anti-war themes, and it also gives us inspiration. Awakening from the consciousness of women, children, and old people to show the evil of war. I think Dad will finally understand what the war has brought him, and what his actions have created, but the price is too painful.
At one point I felt that Bruno and Summer lived in the same environment. Summer was physically tormented but still mentally awake, while Bruno was deceived and indoctrinated even though he had no worries about food and clothing. Both were also imprisoned.
No matter who wins or loses in war, it will only bring pain to both sides. If there is no pain, it is also the pain of unknowing.
After watching such a movie, I often reflect on whether I am living in such an era, but I have never thought of being sober, whether I am just surviving in this era and not asking for the truth. But such a self may invisibly harm others, as well as oneself.
Reflect on no matter what age, whether you have the right to abandon the coercion or not, at least keep yourself awake, and doing nothing is better than doing sin.

One of the heaviest movies I've ever seen, almost suffocated by my mother's heart-wrenching scream in the rain at the end. The background of the first half of the flowers and sunshine is a layer of sugar paper, which was torn open in the last twenty minutes, and only a handful of ashes were left inside. Actors are doing well. But I really don't want to watch it again, it's too uncomfortable.

The perspectives of Nazi officers' families and children's vision are well chosen, but the ending is so bloody that people can't even figure out whether your real intention is to be anti-Nazi or anti-Semitic... Although it can be said that everyone is human, even in war It's also that you have me and I have you, but this ending is too demonized. In addition, because the filming location is Hungary, the adult actresses are all of Eastern European descent, and his maid looks a little Jewish... (the subject of the concentration camp has been filmed badly)

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas quotes

  • Jewish Man: No, it's just a shower.

  • Father: [Elsa has just discovered the true nature of the camp] Elsa, I was sworn to secrecy.

    Mother: From your own wife?

Father: I took an oath upon my life, do you understand? Elsa, you believe in this too. You want this country to be strong...

Mother: No, Ralph! No, not THAT! How could you?

Father: Because I am a solider! Soliders fight wars!

    Mother: That isn't WAR!

Father: That is a part of it, it's a vital part of it! The Fatherland we all desire, all of us, you included, cannot be achieved without work such as this!

    [Elsa begins to break down]

    Father: Elsa, Elsa!

Mother: Get away from me! GET AWAY FROM ME!

    [Begins to cry]

Bruno: [Enters Ralph's office] Grandpa's here!

Father: We'll be through in a moment.

    [to Elsa]

Father: Who told you about this?
