The so-called homology of the three religions, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, are close and complex. Islam respects Jews and Christians as the people of the classics. But Judaism and Christianity are only partially revealed and therefore partially true. Muhammad was the last prophet of the Abrahamic religions. The Qur'an is the last and most comprehensive revelation of the One God.
Therefore, the contradiction between the three religions is very great, and it is difficult to accept each other until modern times. However, Islam has been more tolerant to the believers of the other two religions, the people of the classics, since the time when ancient Muhammad founded the religion. For example, after occupying Jerusalem, they were still allowed to worship. This is also an important reason why Muhammad's "jihad" and the development of Islam in this region have been so successful.
On the other hand, the Crusaders and modern Muslim extremists abandoned tolerance and attacked the other two religious groups who had so much in common with each other. It was too cruel. When the three religions can go back to the source, treat each other with tolerance and tolerate their differences, there will be hope for peace.
