classic

The so-called classics are things that will never let you down no matter what expectations you have in your heart. is one of them. The screenwriter's skills are very deep, and the lines are written in a witty way. I really want to be an audience member of the year, living in the same era as stars like Marilyn Monroe and Tom Curtis, and witnessing them on the big screen every moment of film history.

Billy Wilder perfectly combines the elements of musicals, road films, and comedies. It is 2 hours long, but there is no sense of procrastination. The script for the film is still up-to-date even today. The screenwriter's grasp of language has reached the point of perfection, and many dialogues are familiar before watching the film, such as Osgood's "Nobody's Perfect" at the end of the film, which was even engraved on Billy Wilder's tombstone.

Every character in the film has a distinct personality and even plays, so after watching it once, almost every character's mantra can be remembered. The "Big Joke" of the gangster, the naughty "Zowie", the "Beinstock" of Sweet Sue, and the drunk old man who shouted "I wanna another cup of coffee" three times at the beginning, hehe, remember them all. Of course, there are also best partners Josephine & Daphne!

It wasn't the first "palace" movie I've seen, but the whole movie still means something to me. It's the first Billy Wilder-directed film I've ever seen, and the first film starring Marilyn Monroe. Not only that, but also met Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon. The film was shot in 1959, the year my father was born.
