Why is this popular, in my opinion
1. If the gap with the aliens is too big, there is no way to win. I can only make tragic films, like the skyline, there is nothing to see. It can't be illogical. It's boring to rely on computer viruses or cold viruses to get aliens.
2. It would be embarrassing if you want to make a war movie in this period. The world is so peaceful, and enemies are hard to find. I can find it all over the place. In the game, even dinosaurs have been enemies and were shot by guns (turok). Anyone who is unwilling to find someone will be boycotted. For example, if you look for China as your enemy, you won't want the box office of one billion people, and if you look for North Korea, you won't want the box office of one billion people. Terrorists as enemies? Whoops... Is there a modern war movie where the enemy isn't a terrorist? So I had to find aliens who were slightly stronger but not too strong.
Talking about this film, as long as you notice the emotions of the marines, you will find it wonderful and beautiful. Especially when the sergeant discovered the enemy's main points, and after explaining the future, he got off the rescue helicopter and tried to complete a mission that did not belong to him and had no hope of succeeding. Looking back, the team members who hated him before also quietly got off the helicopter and followed him one by one. No one said anything, just nodded and moved on. The thirty-five seconds of silence made this seat a little wet, more than a thousand words. Those thirty-five seconds make the 116-minute movie worthwhile.
There are many, many more. Don't focus on fighting aliens, you won't regret it.

Add one sentence, this is definitely not the main theme of the United States, the devil is. What they rely on is not advanced weapons, technology, tactics or ideological preservation to turn the tide of the war.
The points that you think are useful, so that other people who think so can see them.
