The source of life, even if the spoiler is okay

I haven't written a movie review, so this is not a movie review, but I don't understand some things very well. I hope someone can give me some advice. There are spoilers, but I think it doesn't matter if the film is spoiled or not.
The movie is a little long, some people left after watching half of it, a total of 138 minutes, the pure visual for a long time (although the picture is very beautiful) is still not acceptable to everyone, of course, it cannot be denied that some people who praise it are not. coercion. The film is divided into two lines, one tells the story of a family in a small town in the United States in the 1950s, a very gentle and kind mother (jessica Chastain), and a strict father (brad pitt) who has high hopes for the child , can't be called dad, but I think he actually loves his son very much. The other one is from the perspective of the universe, from the beginning of mankind, from the Milky Way, the solar system, the earth, meteorites, oceans, volcanoes, dinosaurs, to cells one by one. The spirit of the church has a happy voice, and there is a dialogue between children and God. The two lines are intertwined and interspersed with each other, which is a very flow-of-consciousness expression. Life goes by in a hurry, a person's life is really very, very small. But for a family, the growth of a child is very difficult, and losing a child is of course a very heavy blow. The two lines form a stark contrast. At the same time, the very emotional dialogue with God and rational science also form strong sensory feelings.
A lot of people said they didn't understand it. I think the director didn't want everyone to understand the specific story. He just expressed a feeling, or a passion for life. It seems to be a deep worship of religion and belief. Humans have been deeply researching the origin of human beings, whether God created human beings, or whether it comes from the continuous evolution of nature over hundreds of millions of years. In any case, even if everyone is not very cold, this shooting method is not a great attempt. However, I think it should still be a good movie. My evaluation of a good movie is that it is different from what I imagined before watching it, and it is a good movie.
In the last part of the film, they are very happy on the beach, and now jack (sean penn) is with his parents when they were young. I always feel that he seems to feel guilty. There are only a few scenes in the film, It seems that he also has a bad relationship with his wife? I don't quite understand, I hope someone can give me some advice. Having won the Palme d'Or, it is estimated that it should attract more people to pay attention to this film.

ps: There is a shot in the middle of Brad Peter teaching his son to fight, I even joked with my friends, does he want his son to join the fight club, huh ^_^

The Tree of Life quotes

  • Father Haynes: Do you trust in God? Job too, was close to the Lord. Are your friends and children, your security? There is no hiding place in all the world where trouble may not find you. No one knows when sorrow might visit his house, any more than Job did. At the very moment everything was taken away from Job. He knew it was the Lord who had taken it away.

  • Mr. O'Brien: The world lives by a trigger. If you want to succeed, you can't be too good!
