Dreaming Journey

"Expected Date", at first thought it was a comedy, but what I saw looked completely different from the title. Although many humorous plots are constantly interspersed, one after another, I think it is always a philosophical film with rich connotation.
Two very different people are forced to walk together. The differences in personality, thoughts, experiences, values, etc. make conflicts between them one after another, but they have substantial similarities-emotional resonance . Peter met Ethan and went through all kinds of troubles. He hated Ethan and looked down on his dreams from the bottom of his heart. He felt that he was mixed with an ignorant idiot. However, he was still infected by Ethan. He was gradually followed by a decent architect like him in a sloppy way. When he wanted to abandon Ethan and the puppy, he could not escape his conscience. He came back and started. Changed his attitude towards Ethan, and then slowly fell in love with Ethan. In the car with marijuana smokers, Ethan became the bear in Peter’s dream at the opening. Peter still took Ethan to the Grand Canyon. Facing the magnificent natural landscape, the analysis of the two souls again conflicts, plus Ethan’s inadvertent shot, the film climaxes again, but even if there is a point of sorry for each other, it has passed as they said. There is no forgiveness, no forgiveness, we still have to go on together in adversity. But Ethan has been holding Peter's wallet to be a little surprised, and it makes people feel that Ethan is not simple. The two crazy actions along the way are detached from reality but also reasonable. Good work and its inherent logic, otherwise the work will appear blunt and hollow.
An almost foolish follower of dreams, a father who is eager to see the first child born, are actually two people who pursue ideals or have clear goals. The journey within a few days is a little unrealistic. Like Ethan’s Hollywood dreams are unrealistic, but they all come true in the end. Nothing can really stop us from realizing our ideals, except our own hearts.
I think the emotional changes between them along the way are a major highlight, especially the calmer dialogue between the two is touching. The performance of the puppy is also very good, always melancholy face...

Peter Highman: I just had the strangest dream. It's Friday. We're at the hospital. But it's not a hospital, it's a, a, a forest of sorts. And I know that because right next to you there's a bear. A grizzly, cooling his feet in a stream. And all of a sudden, you begin to deliver, and I can't get to you. But the bear can. And the next thing I know, he is holding our beautiful baby boy. And here's where it gets odd. Uh, he chews the cord. But, strangely, I'm okay with it. That's gotta be a good sign.
