One movie, two comparisons, three questions

This movie Yunnan Boy recommended to me. His recommended word is the American version of "People on the Road". So when you watch this movie, you have to compare it with "People on the Road".
Comparing the two movies, I can think of the gap between Chinese and American movies.
First of all, the protagonists of American movies will have more or less criminal plots, and in the end there will always be nothing. Is the movie downplaying crime or is this a kind of American culture where Americans live so "chily"?
The second is that the car accident in "People on the Road" was just the car overturned, but "The Expected Date" is a traditional Hollywood style car, crashed, then rolled, and finally nothing major. American movies have always been exaggerated. Is this an exaggeration too? Or is it because American cars have good performance, good high-speed road conditions, and can run very fast, so a few more laps than China’s overturned cars are actually close to reality?
The third is that American emotions or taboos seem to be different from what we are concerned about. Their anniversaries or expected date of delivery, or talking about relatives who died, are almost feudal in Chinese terms. They are unscrupulous about sex. Although the modern Chinese are a bit closer to this aspect, perhaps it is because of the influence of this imported culture.
These are a few questions left when watching a movie. I think the movie itself should be at an upper-middle level. If compared with "People on the Road", maybe I am from the standpoint of Chinese culture because I am Chinese. I feel that people are better on the embarrassing journey. If I haven't watched the film, I think this film should not be good at the box office outside.
