Red Dead Redemption-1964 I have

watched many modern films, and I should also watch Look a little older. Choose to choose and choose, this is said to be a classic trilogy of "Plagiarism Trilogy". Start with the first one.

The plot of the film is very stereotyped, the confrontation between the hero and the villain, the confrontation between the righteous and the evil, the ending of the film is bound to be that the evil cannot overcome the right, and the hero wins. This kind of plot has been used in many, many movies. However, this film was shot in 1964. It is a predecessor, and the subsequent films are borrowing from it. This film has influenced many directors, and also provided many elements for later generations to imitate and inspire. So, this film is a classic.

For me, who has watched countless films, I have seen a lot of this type of film, and this film did not bring me much viewing pleasure. Patterned plot, patterned hero, patterned villain, simple picture, not much dialogue, not exciting gunfight. If such a film is viewed today, it can only be a mediocre work. But it appeared in the sixties, and it became an epoch-making work. According to my impression, I have seen several movies using this mode. Now the most impressive is Bruce Willis starring "Blood Titans", it is simply a remake of "Red Dead Redemption".

There are two things that impress me. One is the music of the film. Soothing and melodious, with the desolate town and the mood of the characters, it is very harmonious, and condenses the bleak and cold style of the film. The second is the use of the film's close-up of the characters' faces. The film takes a long-term close-up of each person's face in a timely scene, which makes the character's emotions vividly on the screen, clearly depicts the character's inner activities, and adds to the film's tension and loneliness atmosphere. These two aspects, from today's point of view, are still excellent and not outdated at all.

Finally, let's talk about the hero Clint Eastwood. He is absolutely handsome in this film, both stylish and masculine, no wonder he is so popular. Handsome face, perfect body, charming eyes, a perfect man. It's a pity that his shape in this film is too rough, and his thick beard covers his handsome face. His acting skills are not outstanding in this film. His character is a taciturn hero who plays cool most of the time. There is no difficulty in such a role, and anyone can do it. I hope I can see other Clint Eastwood films in the future, of course not this kind of westerns, where I can see his handsome face and his acting skills.

All in all, an old classic. But now, some parts have not kept up with the times.

A Fistful of Dollars quotes

  • Joe: Every town has a boss.

Silvanito: Yes, but when there are two around, I'd say there is one too many!

  • Joe: You see, I understand you men were just playin' around, but the mule, he just doesn't get it. Course, if you were to all apologize...

    [Men Laugh]

Joe: I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughing. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
