I believe that most Chinese audiences know Jean Reno from "This Killer Is Not Too Cold". In the film, he played the killer Leon, who has stunts, kills without blinking, is innocent, lonely, sits and sleeps, drinks only milk, and finally lost his life for a little girl, leaving an indelible impression on too many people. . Therefore, Jean Reno has become one of the few French actors who can be remembered by the Chinese people.

Since then, we have seen many of his films one after another, such as "Undercurrent", "Green Mustard Detective", "Pink Panther", "Jackal Empire", "Shut Up You", etc. In addition to police, bandit and crime films, he Also tried to act in different types of comedies. However, we must admit that Leon, the killer who walks the world with plants, has been too deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. The starting point of this internationally famous tough guy makes Jean Reno's other characters dwarfed by comparison.

After a somewhat unsuccessful comedy route, in 2010, Jean Reno starred in what the public saw as a comeback, "Immortal" (aka "22 Bullets"). In the film, he plays Charlie Matthew, a former mafia member. Charlie, who originally retired from the arena and enjoyed the life of an ordinary person, was suddenly attacked by masked gangsters on an unusually peaceful day, and he was miraculously survived with 22 bullets. What kind of grievance was buried behind this killing, how did Charlie face and deal with it, what was the ending of the story, can everything return to tranquility? If "This Killer Is Not Too Cold" left the audience with deep regrets, then "Immortal" makes people feel the joy of revenge. However, I have to admit that although people are eager to see a happy ending, in fact, tragedy is always more unforgettable than all perfect endings.

The film is adapted from the novel of the same name published by French writer Franz-Olivier Giesbert in 2006. The story is based on a riotous riot that took place in the late 1970s. The protagonist of the story, Jacques Ember, is the last godfather of the Marseille gang. In 1977, Jacques, who had retired to the mountains, suffered a murder that wanted to put him to death, and the mastermind behind it was his nemesis Tani Zamba. Doctors found 22 bullets in Jacques' body, but he miraculously survived.

The clips are clever, the background music is just right, and both the picture and the music bring out the stark contrast between the peaceful and serene happiness and the bloody violence that swoops in like a storm.

Let Renault return to the killer character of chivalry and tenderness. He is cold, calm but not indifferent, with kindness and respect for justice. He made people believe again that some men don't lose half their charm with the passage of time.

In fact, "Immortal" doesn't have much novelty in the plot. There are two highlights, one is the excellent editing, and the other is the return of Jean Reno. I believe that for viewers who like this French "killer", at least you will not be disappointed.
