bad guys are made , not born

There are two lines in the movie that impressed me: heroes are not born , they are made; think about bad guys , they always lose. Human nature is inherently good? Human nature is evil? It's not all caused by the day after tomorrow. Megamind isn't actually a bad guy at all, just a geek who is less socially capable than Sheldon and still gets rejected despite his efforts. Metroman is not a hero either, just a superpower who longs for an ordinary life. The rejection of classmates produces villains, and people's dependence produces metroman. There is no innate good and evil, only the influence of the day after tomorrow. According to what Megamind said, the villain did lose in the end. He actually lost as a villain, but he won back his true self.

Megamind quotes

  • Megamind: [happily] We're gonna die!

Minion: [laughing then stops] Wait, what?

  • Titan: [on TV] Hey, Metro losers! This is Metro Tower! They say it's supposed to be a symbol of our city's strength...

[shows Roxanne tied to the tower]

Titan: ...but for me, it's a reminder of the day this woman ferociously ripped out my heart! And I hate reminders!

[rips out part of the tower's foundation, swaying it]

Roxanne Ritchi: HAL! Please don't do this. I know there's still good in you, Hal...

Titan: You're so naive, Roxy. You see the good in everyone, even when it's not there. You're living a fantasy. There is no Easter Bunny. There is no Tooth Fairy. There is no Queen of England. This is the real world, and you need to wake up!
