Incompleteness is a kind of perfection

Went to the theater to watch the 3D version of this film. It feels good value for money. Although the plot is not new, the 3D special effects are still very dazzling. I like those Blu-rays.

Computer programmer Kevin Flynn entered the virtual world in order to make the human world more perfect, leaving his family and company behind. Later, his son grew up and got the key to enter the virtual world. At that time, the virtual world was no longer controlled by Kevin Flynn, but another person who pursued perfection from his body-Crewe took control of the virtual world after a coup. Kevin Flynn's disciple Cora is the last remnant of his masterpiece. In the end, the three of them had a life and death duel with Crewe. The father chooses to stay in the virtual world, and the son and Cora leave.

The plot is similar to "The Matrix", but it is not as complicated as "The Matrix" and the connotation is relatively simple. It also has similarities with the novel "The End of the World and Cold Wonderland", so the plot is not new, but there is no flaw, and the plot is tortuous.

Programmer Kevin Flynn was too striving for perfection to create Crewe, so that he was trapped in the virtual world. Later, he gradually realized that the beauty he once had was perfect, although it was incomplete. He no longer chooses to confront, instead, let the flow take its course, with a taste of Lao Zhuang. It is worth noting that he read the "Book of Changes" and meditated. This is all Eastern wisdom. Survival becomes the greatest truth. The stronger the confrontation, the stronger Crewe. Using softness to overcome strength is the right way.

The special effects are still the biggest attraction. Those stunning scenes and lights, cool costumes and weapons, although they can't keep up with "Avatar", they are not bad. The language can’t describe the special effects, so just go see it if you like.

The music is just right. Close to the plot.

As the title says, incompleteness is a kind of perfection. The movie is also, there is no perfect movie, so the lack of plot just expresses this theme. Including this film review, I always feel a lot of incompleteness, but I don't know how to make up for it. Too perfect will lose its reality. There is no perfect novel, just as there is no total despair. Murakami Haruki said. Similarly, there is no perfect film review, just as there is no total despair. The perfect utopia is nothing more than thinking about it. If it is practiced, there will be no good results. Just like the father in the movie said, perfection is right in front of me, but I just turned a blind eye. As a result, he became a slave to the utopia he created.

At the end of the movie, there were some doubts. The female disciple came back with her son, but she was not seen in the playground. Which great god will give an explanation?

I like this movie very much.

TRON: Legacy quotes

  • Sam Flynn: [Alan has come to visit Sam in his storage container/apartment, which has "Dumont Shipping" on the outside and overlooks the harbor] Why are you here, Alan?

Alan Bradley: [holds up his pager] I was paged last night.

Sam Flynn: Oh, man, still rocking the pager? Good for you.

Alan Bradley: [looks down at the pager and smiles, then back to Sam] Yeah, your Dad once told me I had to sleep with it, and I still do. Page came from your Dad's office at the arcade.

Sam Flynn: [looking at a magazine, pauses] So?

    [puts the magazine down]

Alan Bradley: So? That number's been disconnected for twenty years. Sam, two nights before he disappeared, he came to my house. "I've cracked it," he kept saying. He said he was about genetic algorithms, quantum teleportation. He said he was about to change everything. Science, medicine, religion. He wouldn't have left that, Sam.

[sits down next to Sam and playfully punches him in the arm]

Alan Bradley: He wouldn't have left you.

  • Quorra: [talking to Sam, in Flynn's guest room at his safehouse] There's someone I once knew. A program named Zuse, who fought alongside the ISOs. I, haven't seen him in a long time. But they say, he still runs the underground, manages the dissident factions, forges data, for the rogue programs. Moves them around the grid. They say he can get anyone, anywhere.

Sam Flynn: Where do I find him?

Quorra: [hands Sam a glowing data disc] This is his sector. Make it there alive, and he'll find you.
