Tragedy is Tragedy

"Hamlet" and "Macbeth", "King Lear" and "Othello" together constitute Shakespeare's "four tragedies", which is Shakespeare's most famous play. Shakespeare said: "There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people's eyes."
Tragedy is the irreconcilable conflict between the hero and reality in the play and its tragic The ending that constitutes the basic content of the work. Most of its protagonists are representatives of people's ideals and wishes. Tragedy reveals the evil in life with a tragic ending. In the words of Lu Xun, tragedy is about destroying the valuable things in life for others to see, thus arousing the grief and admiration of the audience, and achieving the purpose of improving ideological sentiment. Saying "Hamlet" is a tragedy is not just because so many people died, otherwise any script in which someone died would be called a "tragedy". Tragedy is a tragedy because this script exposes the reality of reality. Injustice and cruelty. Why can't a great and noble king die peacefully? Why do villains kill their parents and take their mothers? Why can't people who love each other end up together? Why can only die with the enemy in the end? Why did the royal family get wiped out? Even if we can't imagine the situation at that time, when we see that what we pursue in life cannot be realized and things go against our expectations, we can't help but feel pity and reflect on reality, which achieves the effect of tragedy.
"Hamlet", also known as "Prince's Revenge", as the name suggests, this play is about the Danish prince Hamlet's revenge on his uncle. The tragic fate of three characters in this play has a very deep impression on me. The first is naturally Hamlet, the second is Queen Gertrude of Denmark, and the third is Ophelia.
Less than two months after Hamlet lost his father, his mother married his uncle Claude. His father's love for his mother was meticulous in his life, "not even willing to let the strong wind blow on her cheek", but now they "jump into the bed of incest with such agility", he said "weak, your name is Woman!" There will always be partings in life, and the pain of bereavement must be experienced by everyone, but when his father's dead soul tells him that he was murdered by his uncle, everything is different. This is the revenge of killing his father and taking his mother .
"To survive or to perish, that is the question", Hamlet made a difficult decision - to play mad and seek revenge. Playing crazy is a good way to seek survival in danger. During this period, Hamlet mistakenly killed Polonius, the minister of the royal family, and Ophelia was so sad that she lost her footing and drowned. Ophelia is Hamlet's beloved girl. How many times he has expressed his admiration for her. Everything came too suddenly...
When he came back from England, he was still facing danger - his uncle and Leotis wanted to join forces to kill him. he. After he accepted the challenge with Laertes, he said to Hericius, "Death will come, not now, but in the future; not in the future, but now; just be prepared for it. Since there is no one If you can know what will be missing after death, what is there to fear in early death? Let it come!" As if he had predicted his fate. The King of Denmark and Leotis had prepared everything for sure. Hamlet was either killed by Leotis' poisoned sword or poisoned by poisoned wine. Hamlet always had the upper hand in the competition. The king tried his best to persuade Hamlet to drink poisonous wine. He never thought that Queen Gertrude would drink poisonous wine... In the third round, Leotis took advantage of Hamlet's unpreparedness and stabbed him with a sword. , In the chaos, the two sides picked up each other's swords, and Leotis was stabbed by Hamlet. At this time, the queen's poison broke out. Hamlet forced the king of Denmark to drink the poisoned wine and died of poisoning. In the end, Laertes, Queen Gertrude, King Claudius, and Hamlet are all dead.
The reason why the tragedy is tragedy, Hamlet finally killed the enemy, but he did not end well, and implicated his mother and beloved girl.
The two women in this tragedy caught my attention a lot. The first is Queen Gertrude, who, from a Chinese perspective, should be the mother of the world, with high quality. Her first appearance on the show was when Claude came to the throne and married her. It is hard to understand how the mother of a country could marry the next monarch, who is actually the younger brother of her late husband, less than two months after her husband's death. Through Hamlet's narration, there is no crack in the relationship between Queen Gertrude and the previous king. The previous king loved her like a treasure. What was the reason for her to marry someone else when her husband's body was still cold. Did she and Claude really love her? I don't think so. In the play, Kraut's attitude towards her is more of an order, and they are not respectful to each other. I speculate that it might be because Crowdy threatened her to obey him, otherwise it would be bad for her and her beloved son, and she herself was incapable of bringing down Crowdy. I don't think Gertrude is as bad as Hamlet imagined. I can't say how much she loves the late king, but I'm sure he loves Hamlet very much. When Claudius "invited" Hamlet to stay in Denmark, Gertrude eagerly begged his son to stay by her side, maybe she wanted her son to stay by her side to better protect him... At the end of the play, Gertrude begged his son to stay with her. Tut resolutely drank poisonous wine. I don't think she didn't know it was poisonous. When Crowdy told her not to drink it, a normal person could guess that there was something wrong with the wine, but she drank it. Isn't this because she wanted to use herself his life in exchange for his son's life?
The reason why a tragedy is a tragedy is that although Gertrude sacrificed herself, her wish was not realized, and her son was eventually killed.
Ophelia, although she doesn't appear many times on the show, has played a big role in a successful tragedy. Ophelia has a very good impact when she comes on stage, young, beautiful, obedient, and decent. Hamlet denied his love for her after pretending to be crazy. Even if it was against her face, she was not angry, but asked God to bless Hamlet back to normal. Later, her father was killed by mistake, which had a great impact on her, so she became mentally disturbed, and finally drowned unfortunately.
Tragedy is tragedy, why should such a good girl suffer so much? Why can't she live happily ever after?
For the 2009 version of the film, the emotional interpretation is very good, but I personally feel that the scenes expressed in the script cannot be restored with modern scenes, so it cannot bring greater shock to the audience. But the tragic theme of the script itself has been vividly expressed. The tragic fate of the characters in the play is enough to resonate with the audience.
