There's nothing going on here, and i love it.

Grown ups is a very down-to-earth and loving movie, it can definitely crack you up and make you reflect.
As we are aging, there are less and less things that can make us happy, things that don't go the way like we planned, all the family and social complications keep pressuring us hard...and sometimes, we just want to laugh and forget about everything. Getting together with your friends would be a terrific way to do that, or just pick up this movie and take the ride with them to the Lake House.
Things may get rough once in a while, and worying about them is just gonna make them worse. Inner happiness is the fuel of success, the story can tell us at least that.
Never let your age stop you from having fun, that is something i learned from this movie.
