just in time

On the road of life, there will always be encounters that make you feel just at the right time. Not too soon, not too late, just right.

Like watching this movie.

It was also because of the recommendation of a friend that I remembered this controversial movie back then. More than ten years later, I finally have the time and motivation to take a look.

At a time when Xiao Lizi was young and beautiful, I have not been buying his handsomeness. But in this movie, his temperament is just right. No matter how violent, fragile, and sensitive he was, he couldn't cover up his purity. Two shots, one after killing Juliet's cousin, and one after committing suicide, the eyes are quite shocking and beautiful, and he blooms at the right time.

Under the white sheets, there is a pink youthful body, playful. In the clear eyes like mountain springs, overflowing is the ripple of love, bottoming out.

And this section of the white snow in the spring, was smashed by the street, the sand was flying, and it was finely divided by murder and expulsion, but it was still very precious.

The director is also at the right time, and the later Moulin Rouge is not as ethereal as this time.

It was also my mentality at the right time. In the increasingly vulgar pop culture, this movie is like a spring that has irrigated my long-drought soul. Perhaps it is not until today that I have seen all kinds of scenery before I feel the cuteness of this movie. A few years earlier, I would only be confused by the postmodern techniques and confused by Shakespeare's lines; but a few years later, maybe I would have read more, and I would have been less touched.

Everything came at the right time. I don't think it's too late to meet you.

Not Baz's best film, but the music is outstanding as always, and there are those interesting supporting characters and fresh lines that move me.

Romeo + Juliet quotes

Captain Prince: [in his office] Three civil brawls, bred of an airy word, By thee, old Capulet, and Montague, Have thrice disturb'd the quiet of our streets, If ever you disturb our streets again, Your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace.

  • Captain Prince: All are punished!
