The main proposition still follows the spiritual core of 1984. In fact, a large part of the design of the scene also refers to the original book and the 1984 British movie of the same name. The difference is that Gilliam, who is also a director and a screenwriter, has added many neurotic elements that he has always been good at and extremely narcissistic, the weak and incompetent boss who died of hand paralysis, and the mother who has plastic surgery and seduces men. A pair of repairmen, and a small car that could only be driven by Mr. Bean, and so on. The most unexpected thing is that the heavy terrorist (actually just an air conditioner repairman) who was wanted by the country because he refused to sign the maintenance program was actually played by De Niro. Of course, the director also made him neurotic without exception, full of comedy like other characters. However, when the girl in the dream, who doesn't even have a humorous scene, drives the truck and dumps the male lead, the cult factor of this movie is all in an instant. Don't you dare to say that you didn't feel that this girl was like a Viper?
The last paragraph of the film makes the male protagonist step into a dream. The transformation and assembly of the whole scene are quite useful for reference. Unfortunately, the male protagonist is still extracted from the brain lobe, but the tone of the film can still be accompanied by music. The illusions that left us fluttering. But I still think whether the rhythm of the last ten minutes of the film is too tight, and before I can get out of it, the camera cuts back to reality. This effect may be the director's goal to achieve it.
Finally, I want to praise herman hupfeld's as time goes by, so I'm going to watch him. Moreover, this film reminded me of another German cult film "Murdering Condom" that I watched not long ago, and also reminded me to watch another North African spy movie.
