I wouldn't have seen a movie like this if it wasn't under the banner of "The Predator".
Looking back more than 20 years ago, I saw "The Predator" through a videotape at a classmate's home. Regardless of the character performance, plot arrangement, special effects, the feeling brought by it can only be described as "shocked". I thought it was a film that Arnold performed quite well, comparable to "Terminator One".
And the several pictures and atmosphere created in "New Predator" reminded me of several works that were similar to it but preceded it. For example, the suspenseful atmosphere has the shadow of "Lost". For example, the scene of walking through a large area of grass is similar to the scene in which the team was attacked by dinosaurs while walking on the grass in "Jurassic Park 1".
As far as the plot setting is concerned, the film seems to be squeezing toothpaste, bit by bit, although very forceful, but always quite bland. The looseness of the overall concept makes the film basically lose the attractiveness that should have made the audience nervous and excited. For example, if the scene in which Laurence Fishburne is played is deleted, it will not affect the integrity of the structure of the whole film and the coherence of the plot.
In terms of special effects, this film has made great progress compared with "Predator" 23 years ago, and the growth of special effects has reduced the viewing experience. In this regard, it is obvious to all that the "gain outweighs the loss".
In terms of 2010 action movies I've seen, it's lackluster. Whether Stallone's "The Expendables" or "The New Predator", can make people drink a glass of white water, tasteless and tasteless, which is rare. If this is not the case, it can be said that there is "no goodness to show".
