Fortunately, most of the work is relatively independent and open. Dissecting without emotion is fruitless. But there is still a contradiction. I do insist that the things I like are best not to be seen too thoroughly. It is the best state to be looming and out of reach through a layer of veil. I came up with this idea when I dissected The Thousand and One Nights with an elective dissertation last semester. After studying it for a whole week, I had a shadow on this book that I have liked for ten years.
Now back to the topic, let's talk about this movie. Recently, I have watched less movies at home during the holidays, so when I saw him, I felt that I hadn't seen such a heavy movie for a long time. The director is sincere, the whole story has no pretentiousness, and several actors are very good, especially Mickey Rourke's performance, which shocked me. The violence of wrestling and the pornography of striptease are not embellishments. They are the director's thinking about the world, just like those scenes where one person is in a daze.
This is not an inspirational film at all. Randy shines brightly in his youth, but he doesn't have the joys that normal people and family have, and it's not a question of whether it's worth it or not. If I had to say, I think that Randy's first half of his life was successful because he got what he was after. And after he left the wrestling ring, he turned to pursue the most ordinary emotions. He wanted to get love from a stripper and family from his daughter, but he failed. Therefore, the film mainly tells the story of an out-of-date wrestler's failure to pursue an ordinary life.
Maybe you haven't experienced the kind of life where your wife and children are separated and you have no money to live, but this feeling is too small in front of this movie, and the wonder of it is this, you don't need to experience it, but you will find that kind of irrepressible feeling. Psychological identity, the loneliness and despair of the hero in the twilight and the unwillingness of life after the young and frivolous, are common.
When people have no choice about life, they can only endure it silently, so Randy risked his life to return to the wrestling ring, and used his last life to receive applause and cheers. After all, life is too difficult and worthless, and death is not so scary .
