We can't start over~
So the choice is difficult~
You must make the right choice~
———————————————————— —————————
Jaco van Dormael uses pigeon superstition as the preface to the whole film, is it telling us that I am just a superstitious pigeon in this universe?
Everyone is intertwined with fate, and perhaps the ultimate result cannot be changed no matter what, but the way of life travel is something we can change through our own choice, whether it is to stay with true love tragically or to maintain a period of numbness" A normal” lifestyle may all be the result of an inadvertent choice. But this choice comes from our superstition of fate! No matter what you do, say or think, as a dove, the universe provides only laws that you can only superstitute.
Everyone can perform through different life states until the end of life. When the time comes, no matter how you feel, you have to accept the only ending that is death. There are some things here that are always the same. In the film, fate or Mr. Nobody's own spiritual existence gave him various opportunities to make choices, and these instantaneous choices gave him many ways to experience life. Whether it's Anna, Alice or Ginny, no matter who these choices push him to and get along with, it hasn't changed his natural innocence, his sincere attitude towards others and his commitment to commitment. This loyalty may be the moral superstition we have summed up in the face of life for thousands of years.
When he got together with Ginny, although he never had a true "love" for her, even this boring married life exhausted all his vitality, causing him to completely lose the urge to live , but he never betrayed from beginning to end and left everything he had to Ginny before choosing to say goodbye to the world alone.
For Alice, a crazy autistic, hysterical and betrayal of his wife, he always does his best to stand by her side. ("Do your best" is a very tragic word, we do things and do the best to our strength, but the problem is that sometimes things are completely beyond our ability or have nothing to do with ability and effort at all, there are many things in the world It will be like this.) Mr. Nobody is like a primitive man to expel the threat from his life for his wife. If the threat comes from a ferocious black bear, he will not hesitate to use the club in his hand to smash the behemoth. But what can he do when his wife tells him that the real threat to their marriage is that she never loves him but loves another man who doesn't care about her? Mr. Nobody, maybe the only thing a good person can do is to carry the promise of his youth and throw his lover's ashes alone in the lonely red dust of Mars.
And for Anna, his favorite, for her, he could lose everything and give up everything. Waiting alone for ten years in an empty city, if she doesn't appear, then he will wait for the second and third. . ten years. All, the cause is the 14-year-old, the intoxicating lighthouse appointment before parting and the unforgettable memory of Anna's death.
In fact, these are three choices and three states of life: the person who loves you but you don’t love the person you love but doesn’t love you loves you and the person you love.
Mr. Nobody has implemented his loyalty from beginning to end - the extension of human morality. He (that is, all of us) prayed to every imminent future with the most devout superstition in the face of fate, and hoped that it would be the beginning of happiness.
Mr. Nobody imagined various life trajectories for himself. Perhaps in this multi-dimensional universe, these trajectories have actually happened, or perhaps it is just some spiritual existence thinking about the universe that he can perceive. And in the end he repeatedly went to the fate of his accidental death. But if everything can be completely over and then give him one last chance to choose, Mr. Nobody used his low and weak voice to call out "Anna.", the name of the person he loved the most. Anna is his favorite, the essence of his life where all happiness begins and ends. At the moment of his last words, Anna may have become the only meaningful chapter in his long life. But, have you done anything extraordinary and special to Anna Mr. Nobody?
no! In fact, this is a cruel and ruthless answer. This is what we get through the film: we are just superstitious pigeons in the ruthless universe, our choices are just to get food (general happiness) and superstitiously wave our wings. Because we don't know the conditions behind the happiness we desire to actually achieve it. Continually flapping our moral wings is what we believe in and the only thing we can do.
At the end of the film, Mr. Nobody gave an answer to a question, a concept of chess. The only answer to passive containment: immobility. So the child who stood at the intersection of fate gave up all efforts to move forward and backward after learning everything in the future, chose another fork in the road, and stagnated in that mysterious jungle. But is this really the answer? Could this be just another answer for the pigeons to turn on the feeder every twenty seconds? Pigeons are still superstitious.
