I happened to be reading Henry Ford's autobiography. He is also a dreamer. When he was studying the internal combustion engine, everyone disliked him and advised him to give up quickly, saying that the future is the era of electricity. But he didn't listen.
But he persevered. Not only was he a genius, but he found his true passion in his teens. In the process of continuous research, I also found a way to combine hobby and service to the public.
So he is a dreamer and has the ability to turn dreams into reality.
And Tom is actually just a dreamer, plus he is very bluffing. No one understands what he does, and those who follow the trend don't even intend to. Just as everyone followed the trend more than 100 years ago and said that the future is the era of electricity.
However, people who really understand are completely different, just like Edison. When henry asked him if the internal combustion engine had a future, he said: "There will be. Any engine that is lightweight, has a lot of horsepower, and can self-supply has a great future. There is no single kind of power that can do all the jobs in the country. We don't know electricity. Something can be done, but I don't think it's a panacea." It was 1887.
There is another interesting scene in the film. His father went to see him at the company and found that the employee's job was to eat Oreos. He asked Tom why anyone would give you a million for this. tom said dad, they actually got two zeros at the end of the money they gave. In fact, Tom didn't know how to spend so much money, so he had to buy a business jet. There is a long section in this film that describes how he insisted on asking an employee to buy a business jet of some kind. The employee said it would cost one million a month, and we couldn’t afford it. He said, xxx has xxx, we I also want xxx, and xxx has a business jet, so we also need a business jet, so that we are a high-level company. In fact, after all, he is the one who follows suit.
henry ford also has a point about this. He believes that "everyone has a sad belief in the use of money. It is true that money is very useful in normal times, but it is only when it is used for production that it can exert its greatest value."
According to this logic, there is a real Rich people should be very busy. They have to be busy spending money (that is, for production), how can they be like him all day long.
