My Bible was given to me by an aunt who believed in Jesus about 20 years ago, when I was 7 years old. That year, my parents and I took me to Jiuzhaigou to play together. A serious accident happened. When I came back, only my dad was left. The three aunts in the same tour group voluntarily gave up the rest of the journey and stayed to help take care of me. I gave me this Bible before I left. It's a pity that I have watched popular science since I was a child and have never believed in religion. After many years of Dianpei, even the aunt's contact information was lost, but the Bible was always by her side.
In the past 20 years, I have read only the first page of the Bible: Old Testament·Genesis. God said there must be light. But every time I pass by the church (and I can't tell whether it is Christ or God), I will be infected by the atmosphere there. How powerful is this book to go beyond reality and reach the noblest spirit of people's hearts?
Although the film "The Book of Avery" is too old-fashioned, I still like this idea: When the world returns to a barbaric state, what will it depend on to re-sustain human society? It is not an exaggeration to get the only bible in the world to rule the world. This is why the emperor sent Tang Seng to Xitian to learn the scriptures.
So I always have a humble reverence for religion.
