I didn't watch the movie synopsis at the time because Robin Hood was so famous.
However, when I sat in the theater and saw the logo of IMAGINE ENTERTAINMENT in front of my eyes, I began to be in awe. Because I thought of Scott's epic masterpiece - "Reign of Heaven". I realize that this is not going to be an ordinary historical drama. And Scott didn't let me down.
The so-called high and low. If you are not interested in history or do not have any historical background, I advise you not to waste money. Because that's going to be a long, boring movie and an effective sleeping pill for you.
After the movie opened, the facts told me. My intuition was right. It's almost like the original cast of "Kingdom of Heaven" is trying again to surpass a legend they once created. Many actors have had wonderful performances in "Kingdom of Heaven", but this time the characters they play have completely different faces from the last time. If you've ever been obsessed with "Kingdom of Heaven", I think you can feel the strange feeling that is familiar but completely different.
Scott has been in awe of the level of care he has given to props since "Kingdom of Heaven". I used to be obsessed with medieval European history, especially the crusades. No matter from clothing, armor, horses, weapons, castles, siege equipment, and framing, it is a rare visual feast for a history fan like me. The characters that we can only see in the history books with yellowed title pages in the library come to mind one by one. What a pleasure that is.
Then there is the horse battle that I have to say. Majestic horse fights have always been Scott's forte. Knights are an indispensable combat unit in medieval warfare, and they control the situation of the entire war. When you saw King John leading the English knights to the French position, did you also think of the scene in "Reign of Heaven" when Barian led his 100 knights to the army of Saladin? At the moment of hand-to-hand combat, blood splattered everywhere, the pleasure was born.
The plot of a historical drama is no longer as important as a literary film, because the extended sense of history itself can make up for the emptiness of the plot to some extent. Of course, this requires the audience to have a certain background knowledge to achieve this effect. Therefore, there should be a way of judging the white snow in the spring. rather than generalization.
