In my opinion, Takahata Isao's works always appear empty and confused compared to Miyazaki, who are also the leading figures of the Ghibli Club, and the behaviors of the characters in his works are often inexplicable. If you want to express some profound content, you usually need the support of sufficient arguments and rigorous arguments, otherwise it will be a weak and pale cry.
Obviously, Hun Takahata wants to express something very much, and there are shouts and talks in many of his works. But the realism created by the many nuanced, life-like scenes, combined with the irrationality of the plot and the motivations of the characters, is often incomprehensible.
