Thanks Dickens

I read a classic novel in college and lost half of it in the study room. At that time, I followed little David to the countryside and seaside of England; in

2008, I watched this BBC movie for more than 3 hours in a small cubicle. I have a different feeling - Copperfield when I was a child said, "My beautiful mother only loves me." I felt the same way when young David went to London to rent a house and work alone; and seeing the coachman Bacchus in the film / The treacherous villain Yulia Shipp is really bright and the impression in my mind when I was reading the novel was amazing.

Thank you Dickens Thank you to the BBC

David Copperfield quotes

  • Murdstone: David, if I have an obstenent dog or horse to deal with, what do you think I do? I beat him. I make him wince and smart. I say to myself, "I'll conquer that fellow, and even if it costs him every drop of blood he has, I'll do it."

    [Grasps David firmly]

Murdstone: Do we understand each other?

    [David nods]

    Murdstone: Good.

    [Strokes David's head]

Murdstone: Now wash your face and come downstairs directly.

  • Miss Murdstone: Generally speaking, I don't like boys.
