The most impressive scene in "Battle Royale" is that Takeshi Kitano, who the audience thought was dead, suddenly came alive again, picked up his mobile phone and made a call before he fell down and died. I reckon if this were in a movie theater, the whole audience would be laughing. I don't know if this episode was conceived by the director or Takeshi Kitano, but it is really a classic. This way of dying is deliberate and full of irony. I am not too interested in the students in the film, but I have always liked this scene in the film very much. Just for this segment, this movie is worth watching. And the so-called handsome guys who come to participate in the "Battle Royale" for the sake of killing people are not as lethal as Kitano Takeshi.
