You are on the cross, dripping with blood

A year and a half ago, when I was in Missouri, during a Sunday service, the pastor told us that Mel Gibson was making a film about the crucifixion of Jesus, and he was opposed by many religious groups, and even by the Jews The siege, coupled with funding problems, made filming very difficult. He traveled to Missouri to seek support from religious figures and hoped that Christians would pray for him. That day, accompanied by melodious religious music, we sincerely prayed for him for a long time. Finally, the film came out. On Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent before Easter, "The Passion of the Christ" was released in the United States.

I've been looking forward to this movie for a long time, and after watching some reviews, some tidbits, about its truth and violence, I thought I was fully prepared, that familiar story, familiar people, nothing shocked me. But by the end of the film, I was sitting there in tears and collapsed, with all the splendor and splendor that terrified me. The sacred and ethereal ending song did not sing Amen, but I could clearly hear the sound of my heart breaking; the petals scattered on the ground were not tears, but hearts.

In fact, from the beginning of the video, when Jesus knelt on the ground in the orchard, praying to the Father, tears welled up in my eyes, and I kept holding back, not intending to let it fall. But in one scene, Jesus carried the cross and staggered forward, and Maria in the crowd covered her mouth in distress. She remembered that when Jesus was a child, he staggered forward and suddenly fell; she hurried over to help the young Jesus... So she suddenly gained strength and rushed towards Jesus desperately, trying to protect him as before her son. The past and present are intertwined on the screen, with baby Jesus and adult Jesus alternately appearing, and the slow motion shows Jesus falling forward. I shouted "No, no, NOOOOO!" in my heart and tears were pouring out. Please, God, let this mother lift her son up, let her stroke his hair, kiss his cheek, wipe all the blood, and let them have one last time together. But the son glanced at his mother, who was running towards him, and fell down. The mother finally came to her son, crying bitterly, and the son said softly, even with a slight smile: "Behold, I'll make all things new. God's declaration to man is not the son's persuasion and comfort to his mother? The Passion of the Christ is about God and man. A loving mother and a son, filial piety, will always touch the softest part of my heart.

Another scene that brought tears to my eyes was the crucifixion of Jesus. The unkempt, naked Jesus fell on the cross with his only remaining eye open. The savage soldier took an iron nail as thick as a thumb and stuck it in the center of his palm. I cried out in pain. The soldier took the hammer again and smashed it hard. I couldn't bear to look any longer and closed my eyes. But I still seemed to see that black nail, digging into Jesus' skin, flesh, and bones, covered with bright red blood, and digging straight into the wooden cross. It's the other hand's turn. Because the arm was not in line with the arm of the cross, Jesus' arm was pulled hard until it clicked and dislocated. Then the soldiers began to nail. This time, I saw hammer after hammer, blood splattered, almost splattered on me, into my eyes. I quickly closed my eyes, tears welling up. I didn't understand in the past that since Jesus is God and knows that he can be resurrected after death, there is nothing to admire about his death--if I know that I can be resurrected from death, I don't want to die once and try it out. . But now I understand that Jesus, the Son of God, has a human body, a body that can perceive pain! So, this sacrifice, this perseverance, how can I not be in awe? If this sacrifice and perseverance is out of love, how can I not be grateful?

The most impressive thing about the whole film is the blood, a lot of blood. While praying in the orchard, Jesus' sweat turned into blood droplets, Maria wiped the puddles of blood on the ground, and blood oozing from the palms of Jesus' hands on the cross, and his whole body was dripping with blood. Finally, the soldier stabbed the dying Jesus with a spear. Why does it have to be so bloody? According to Christian teachings, human beings are deeply sinful. Only when God personally descends on the earth, and only when Jesus himself experiences the most cruel punishment and uses the greatest amount of blood, can human beings be saved and ascend to heaven. Satan said, "No one man can carry the whole burden of sin." But by love, Jesus did. Since Jesus really had no strength to carry the cross alone, the soldiers found someone to help him, and the man reluctantly said: "I'm an innocent man, forced to carry the cross for this condemned man. Forced to bear the cross for this sinner.)" What a wonderful irony! The truth is quite the opposite - Jesus, the only innocent man in the world, is voluntarily carrying the heavy cross for all sinners. Jesus said to his mother, "I'll make all things new." After his death, the world was indeed a new one - earth and heaven were no longer completely separated, and Jesus exchanged his blood for mankind's Salvation, Jesus is the way to heaven.

As I write this, I have to say that I am not a Christian. I pray sincerely, but I am not sure that the object of my prayer is the God in the Bible; I believe fervently, but I am not sure that I believe in Jesus in Christianity. However, I truly revere Jesus. He loves peace and does it by himself. When arrested, his disciples rose up and cut off a soldier's ear, and Jesus said, "Put down thy sword." Jesus forgives sins. While being tortured, he said, "Forgive them, for they know not what they do. (Forgive them, because they don't know what they are doing.)" Jesus loved the world unconditionally and taught the world to love. He repeatedly said to his disciples, "Love one another as I have love you. (Love one another as I have love you.) Love your neighbor as yourself." Even suffering humiliation He still said, "Love your enemy." No matter what a person's God is, whether he has a religious belief or not, he may have to admit that Jesus' life principles and Ethics are always worthy of admiration and observance by future generations. Jesus, when you were on the cross, dripping with blood, I saw the truth: peace against violence, forgiveness for sin, and fraternity for hatred.

The wind blows, the clouds surge.

A large drop of crystal clear rain fell from the sky and hit the ground. The earth shakes.

Jesus is dead.

God wept.

Endless darkness.

Suddenly a ray of light appeared: Jesus stood up, with stigmata on his hands. So the sky is bright.

Jesus is resurrected.
