Well, you can think of "Lovely Bones" as a special effect film. Because it does have many special effects. From the golden rice ocean, countless bottles The ship crashed into the reef and sank, the huge green plant garden, countless flashes kept flickering around the heroine Susie, and the lush leaves turned into countless flying colorful birds.... The above description is only a small part of the special effects of the whole story. Part (at this point, I'm reminded of "Dr. Parisos' Fantastic Show"). The special effects in the movie do seem like a kind of show off by Peter Jackson, but it does represent a fact of the space where Suzy is-- --This is a space between heaven and man, a world where you are willing to stay and go on (prepare for heaven..) and forget the past. But, in Suzy's heart, that terrible past , She couldn't forget it, even though Haoli, another strange girl who accompanied her in this world, kept persuading her to forget the past.
The performances of the actors are not covered by special effects. Ronan, who plays Susie, has an amazing appearance. If you have seen her "Atonement", then you will see her cute and innocent side in this movie (it's just a Little Lori...). The grandmother played by Susan Sarandon is the treasure of the whole movie (Peter Jackson puts most of the humor in this role) The performance of Mom and Dad is also very good ( His performance when he learned that his daughter was no longer alive was very touching. The focus here is on Stanley Tooth's (weird uncle) Mr. Harvey. In the first half of the story, this character was blurred (no Any frontal shots, but if you look closely. You'll see that this character has been following Susie hauntedly -- among passers-by, in the grass, in a stalled car, behind half-closed curtains) S's performance of this bizarre and perverted character is extremely scary. The hysterical laugh, the look that seems to be planning to kill you in the next second, and the face that has never changed emotionally. Every time he appears, the audience gasps. In one breath (which, of course, made his flamboyant death a delight). Rose McIver, the younger sister of New Zealand's rookie, didn't make many appearances, but she contributed to the audience. The action scene (this scene is about the sister sneaking into Harvey's house while Harvey is out to find evidence that can accuse Harvey of killing Susie). Other characters, such as Susie's dream lover (unfortunately the love between the two It can only be that the ghosts are over...), the black-haired girl who can see the wandering ghost (Susie) has a good performance.
Overall, the whole movie is not just a special effect movie, I think It's more like a warm family movie. Excluding the special effects, the whole story has humorous lines and a tense plot (at least two of the plots are full of suspense. Not too much spoilers here...), Peter Jackson's script (and not forgetting the help of his wife, of course) was well written (continued thanks to author Alice Hibbard for the storyline). If only Peter were less reliant on special effects (too much use of special effects...) , maybe this movie will be better. If you want to see Peter Jackson's different style movies from The Lord of the Rings, The Lovely Bones is a good choice.
