Birds are like this, and people are even more so. Once a newcomer appears, no matter how much the original differences and disputes are, everyone will put them aside in a very tacit understanding, share the hatred of the enemy, unite and unite to the outside world. If this "outside" is different from everyone else, the group nature and xenophobia will be even worse.
Humans are lonely animals, and they feel uncomfortable without the approval and acceptance of others. So, some people would rather give up their distinctive individuality just to fit into a mediocre group.
