My own thinking on this movie and my father (in English)

The movie “Meet the Parents” tells a story of a couple of lovers and a visiting to the woman's parents' house in a humorous tone. The man whose name is Greg fell in love with the woman Pam and he made up his mind to marry her. Unintentionally, he knew that he should ask for her parents' permission if he wants to marry her. So, he prepared a lot for the visiting to her parents' house. However, good things always don't come about easily. Greg lost his luggage and met a train of coincidences during the visiting, which led to bad consequences. When he finally gave up and decided to leave, fortunately, the father of Pam was convinced and changed his attitude towards the lover of his daughter. Greg came to the family again and asked Pam to marry him successfully.

I share the same opinion, maybe, with lots audiences that I like Greg very much. Although he seems to be a little bit stupid and slow in response, he is truly reliable. This conclusion can be drawn from the scene in the movie that when Pam's father made him promise to obey the rules so that he could be maintained in the trust circle, he just kept it in mind and followed it. Most important of all, he loves Pam deeply, for he sacrificed a lot to try to gain appreciation from his future father-in-law. For example, he got along as well as possible with the cat which he used to hate and he had to live in the storage. What is worse, he even isn't admitted to use the toilet bowl. But he didn't complain a word about this because of his love to Pam.

Besides Greg, I also have a unique affection that I am a little bit like the father of Pam. It is true that he is very rigid when judging his daughter's boyfriend. But, I can see that these are all derived from his stream-like love towards his daughter. He fully prepared for a surprise for another daughter's wedding ceremony and cared a lot for his daughter Pam's future life. He is like a mirror which reflects the depth of fathers' love in the whole world. And he makes me think of my own father who likes me very much. I think, maybe, when I bring a boyfriend home one day, he will be very picky too.

When talking about my opinion about the relationship between parents and children, I'd like to say the followings. When I was living together with my parents, I always complain that they nearly controlled every aspect of my life and their rules almost extend to every corner of my own affairs. I was impatient at their suggestions or comments on my behaviors. However, as time goes by, as I grew up and apart my parents to attend the college, I miss them so much. I finally know that it was a kind of true happiness when you have someone nattering beside your ears. So, it is the love that combines our parents and us together firmly. Whatever they do, whatever they say, they just want us happy. Keep this in mind and treasure the time you are spending together with your parents.

I used to watch the title and thought it was a dog-blooded family farce with a lack of laughter and a modest expression. Only when I clicked it, I found that every minute was a surprise! Ben Stiller's cold and funny appearance is completely different from Adam Sandler's unrestrained performance, but the comic effect is not at all disappointing. Count the highlights and funny sections in the film, the champagne cork smashes the ashes of the grandmother, the superb name of Focker, the tricky Uncle De, the Jinx who can flush the toilet, the wood carving that burns EX

It's a little funny, but it's okay to be creative

    Greg Focker: Yes, I did.

Jack Byrnes: No peeking. Did we eat potroast for dinner tonight?

    Greg Focker: Yes.

    Jack Byrnes: Was it under-cooked?

Greg Focker: No, it was rare.

    [polygraph starts spiking]

Greg Focker: It was a little rare for my taste.

    Jack Byrnes: I'm just kidding

    [chuckles]

Jack Byrnes: [Greg laughs nervously] Relax. Relax. The needles are jumping.

    [long pause]

Jack Byrnes: Have you ever watched pornographic videos?
