I share the same opinion, maybe, with lots audiences that I like Greg very much. Although he seems to be a little bit stupid and slow in response, he is truly reliable. This conclusion can be drawn from the scene in the movie that when Pam's father made him promise to obey the rules so that he could be maintained in the trust circle, he just kept it in mind and followed it. Most important of all, he loves Pam deeply, for he sacrificed a lot to try to gain appreciation from his future father-in-law. For example, he got along as well as possible with the cat which he used to hate and he had to live in the storage. What is worse, he even isn't admitted to use the toilet bowl. But he didn't complain a word about this because of his love to Pam.
Besides Greg, I also have a unique affection that I am a little bit like the father of Pam. It is true that he is very rigid when judging his daughter's boyfriend. But, I can see that these are all derived from his stream-like love towards his daughter. He fully prepared for a surprise for another daughter's wedding ceremony and cared a lot for his daughter Pam's future life. He is like a mirror which reflects the depth of fathers' love in the whole world. And he makes me think of my own father who likes me very much. I think, maybe, when I bring a boyfriend home one day, he will be very picky too.
When talking about my opinion about the relationship between parents and children, I'd like to say the followings. When I was living together with my parents, I always complain that they nearly controlled every aspect of my life and their rules almost extend to every corner of my own affairs. I was impatient at their suggestions or comments on my behaviors. However, as time goes by, as I grew up and apart my parents to attend the college, I miss them so much. I finally know that it was a kind of true happiness when you have someone nattering beside your ears. So, it is the love that combines our parents and us together firmly. Whatever they do, whatever they say, they just want us happy. Keep this in mind and treasure the time you are spending together with your parents.
