Zen, and hard and difficult Zen.
This is the only feeling I have after watching "Yi Zang".
I don't know Takashi Miike, maybe I don't have the skills to fully understand such Japanese-style violent and dirty aesthetics.
Like some ancient Japanese movies. The ghosts and spirits of the Heian period were haunted and magical; the swords, lights, swords and shadows unique to the samurai period, bloody storms, and gorgeous beheadings.
But I don't like this "Izang".
Criss-crossing visual fragments, hazy images. Wanton violent beheading. Inexplicably, I
like a beautiful boy played by Matsuda Ryuhei. With a beautiful face and an indifferent and decadent look, he carries a snake on his back.
I always say that Matsuda Ryuhei is a demon boy, or the heroines in tanmei novels who fascinate all beings. Garner in the Royal Code suits him well.
