Quarrel with the screenwriter

The scene where Roman Polanski slits Jack Nicholson's nose was extremely complex to film, and the two men involved got so tired of explaining how it was done (by using a specially-constructed knife with a short hinge that would be safe as long as it was handled vERY carefully) that they began to claim Nicholson's nose was actually cut.
Polanski nicholson nose cut that scene because they got too complicated and explain to people that do not want to say it really is nicholson nose was cut Up.

The screenwriter is so fascinating that 130 minutes is not too long. I heard that the voice-over was completely removed because of Nicholson's outstanding performance. The picture feels very strong.

It's just that the water conservancy incident and the rape of the heroine by her dad are combined together, which is a bit messy. Is the life of friends in the water conservancy circle so colorful...

I didn't feel it or I didn't feel it. The second time I still couldn't lift the energy. The rhythm of the old man's film was exactly the opposite of most of his films. . . The only thing that is impressive is Polanski's little bastard, the perfect soundtrack, and the exquisitely designed ending. . .

A brilliant detective novel. As little as possible, it is better to do more than to do less. The Chinese philosophy of calming things is expressed from a quasi-American detective. It is weird and more helpless. The gloomy Polanski created by the tragic experience, the scene of the threat of cutting his nose in his own body, is really ingenious and shocking. Old Jack, about your eyebrows, will be like a full moon.

Chinatown quotes

  • Loach: What happened to your nose, Gittes? Somebody slammed a bedroom window on it?

Jake Gittes: Nope. Your wife got excited. She crossed her legs a little too quick. You understand what I mean, pal?

  • Jake Gittes: Evelyn, put that gun away. Let the police handle this.

Evelyn Mulwray: He owns the police!
