I haven't read the original book, so I don't know the question of "whether the adaptation is successful" discussed by many people. The deepest feeling is a little bit of thinking about human nature: I remember where I saw a Lincoln story. During the American Civil War, a pastor suggested Lincoln to pray to God to be on their side. However, Lincoln told the pastor, I prayed to God. The prayer is that I will be on the side of God. I thought of this story after watching "Angels and Demons" because the final conversation between the Pope's Chamberlain and the Chief of the Swiss Guard expresses his role as a leading fighter in the confrontation between science and faith. This is a misreading of the faith aside from his quest for the papacy. When taking Victoria to examine the late Pope's body, he knelt down and told his priest that God had guided him in all this. This idea is like when Peter dissuaded Jesus. This is the love of God and the protection of faith, but this is not God's idea, but man's own idea. It seems that he is defending his faith and standing for God. On one side, in fact, he thought he was on the side of God. God would not have led him to do this, and when he thought he was an angel, he had become a devil. And true faith is a life that is truly led by God after emptying itself. There is a saying in the Bible that it is no longer I, but Christ. That's what it's saying. I hope that believers who understand this movie can get out of this misunderstanding and be God's angels, not their own angels. Otherwise, even if you show an angelic side in front of everyone, you will still be just a devil after all.
On the question of science and faith, there is no more discussion. My point of view is that science is not as young as the waiter said, but science has limitations and loopholes after all, and the truth will always have places that are beyond our reach, because we are only human. Knowing that you are limited is a great thing, let's keep a little humility before God.
