Runaway

For the remembrance of forgetting. We suddenly grew up that summer.

The first time I saw this movie was in the summer of college graduation.

The allusion to the "wild reed" comes from La Fontaine's fable "The Oak and the Reed": The oak said to the reed, "Look, how strong I am, the wind cannot blow." You are so weak that you can be uprooted by a gust of wind. At this time, a terrible gale blew up and knocked down the oak, but the reed was safe, for it stooped down and avoided the gale.

Maybe we were oak trees a long time ago, but we always have to learn compromise and balance in the process of growing up.

We sat quietly in the cool shade of the tree, we quietly looked at the gurgling stream, we quietly listened to the sound of the reeds in the wind.

ps: The subtitles are translated by Mike, borrowed by Merry.

Del Shannon's Runaway, proving that this is really just a story about youth.
