How beautiful can be beautiful, how ugly can be ugly

"David Copperfield" is the greatest foreign novel in my reading memory. It used to be like an enlightenment book, which allowed me to understand suffering, death, love, forgiveness, betrayal, humility, search in ignorance...including the last, after the death of the most beloved woman, a man can still treat another with a clear conscience. The girl said I love you.
Dora was a name so beautiful that I shuddered under the lamp late at night, and her death had left me devastated for many days after. At the time, I was still in elementary school.
In short, "David Copperfield" has shown me very truly, how beautiful can be beautiful and how ugly can be ugly. So, giving this movie five stars is basically out of respect for the novel itself, and of course, thanks for the movie's loyalty to the original.
There were two times in the process of watching, I couldn't help crying, one was Dora helping David with the quill, and the other was a conversation before her death, the little wife Dora who was infinitely lovable.

David Copperfield quotes

  • Murdstone: David, if I have an obstenent dog or horse to deal with, what do you think I do? I beat him. I make him wince and smart. I say to myself, "I'll conquer that fellow, and even if it costs him every drop of blood he has, I'll do it."

    [Grasps David firmly]

Murdstone: Do we understand each other?

    [David nods]

    Murdstone: Good.

    [Strokes David's head]

Murdstone: Now wash your face and come downstairs directly.

  • Miss Murdstone: Generally speaking, I don't like boys.
