Disappointed Book Adaptation

Without reading Hemingway's original work, I can't say how much experience and understanding of the story. It's even harder to judge whether a movie is faithful to the original. But after watching the film, it gives the impression that it is an adaptation of a famous novel, and it is an unsuccessful imaging. There has always been no good ending for famous novels on the screen, but the visualization of second-rate works is even more surprising. The film's storytelling is mechanical, not smooth, the characters are veneer, and there is no soul. The whole film is a dictation assignment, following the rules, and then the exoticism of Africa and Europe and the personal charm of the two leading stars are still attractive.

Compared with the original book, I love the movie more, and the changed ending makes people hopeful :) Maybe it's because I have a good impression of Parker, I always feel that he is sunny and upbeat~

The Snows of Kilimanjaro quotes

  • Harry Street: [narrating] I suppose it was the elusiveness of Liz which was her main attraction. She was something to hunt down and trap and capture. The Countess Elizabeth - Frigid Liz - the semi-iceerg from the semi-tropics!

  • Dr. Simmons: [referring to Cynthia's miscarriage] Do you actually mean you didn't know about the child? Don't you people talk to each other?
