Because the really interesting part of this movie is not the theoretical knowledge thrown out by the professors (all things that can be found on Baidu Encyclopedia, how profound is it), nor is it thrown out by the male protagonist oh yeah The shocking historical truth of I am your Jesus Christ (not that people in the faith can't understand how shocking this is even if they see the old lady bursting with tears and hysteria, right? Besides, since Jesus has already been an alien life in a different space, he has become Ex-Shakya disciples in crappy sweaters are nothing new), but "I'm immortal" propositions like "I saw a fire-breathing dragon in the garage." You can't come up with evidence to substantiate it, but no one else can offer to falsify it. If this tune is maintained to the end, the movie ends with everyone easily accepting the male protagonist's "just joking" explanation (this is another interesting point, although it is not new, people are most likely to accept what they are most willing to accept ), I'll give it 5 stars/9 points when it runs away,
unfortunately...
"I'm your father..."
"Oh no!"

Immediately turned into a curious night story.
And I don't understand what the role of that woman really does.
People are dying, so love is immortal.
And what does she want to prove?
Maybe it's the director who thinks it's hard to stop the whole plot without a strong ending, but I said dude, you're making a movie like that made it clear that it can only be shown at festivals like Sundance and spread by word of mouth on nerd blogs, you want that kind of drama conflict to do. Some movies must be revealed in suspense at the last moment, but Man From Earth, it has no suspense from beginning to end, it has and should only have room for the audience to think. Time reflects the director's own intelligence. A good movie will only reveal the suspense and will not occupy the audience's thinking.
And that ending completely destroys this room for the audience to think before the film is about to become otherworldly.
In other words, without that ending, movie nerds and sci-fi nerds would have been arguing for years about whether John was the One or not.
Right now, they're just arguing passionately and earnestly about whether or not to give the movie five stars is a form of coercion.
