I saw that Teacher Guanzhong recommended the movie Carrington. I don't know why the Chinese translation is - glass lover - maybe it means fragile. He has read it 3 times! It's raining today, I went out to borrow a movie and the cat watched it at home.

Based on the true life story of British painter Dora Carrington, the film is rather intricate! She's a little obsessive and in love with a soul mate - Giles Lytton Strachey - who is a gay writer! But she's physically attracted to other men. Get married, cheat, keep busy. Even Strachey loved her husband, crammed into their marriage bed. After Strachey dies, she kills herself.

The film reflects the lifestyle of a bohemian writer and artist. After reading the introduction, the flower child in the United States is also the reason for them.

In addition, I always feel that EMMA is too dignified to play this role! Maybe it's because I saw her reason and emotion.

There's an interesting line of dialogue:

I like you, but not your body!
But I am my body!

It seems that to love a man you must love his soul and body. It is dangerous to love apart.

-- read it again. Human emotions are the most complex and often incomprehensible! But I can't help watching this movie as a LOVE STORY.

Carrington quotes

  • Lytton Strachey: I have heard rumors to the effect that there are actually people who enjoy writing. Can this be true? I loathe it. All that work and at the end of it some slim volume. What is the point? I ask myself.

  • Lytton Strachey: The truth is, I've always been better at living than I ever was at writing.

Dora Carrington: What's wrong with that?
