It's saying that even if you choose to take a different path, you can still shine.
I like "Milk".
Not just because he describes a great person or records a piece of history, but it gives us another perspective on how we should treat the minority when we are the majority .
I forgot to read in a book about someone who happened to be in a gay parade in San Francisco, and walked among a couple of men or women embracing each other, and he felt a little ashamed.
So you see, these are all relative, I mean what kind of camp you are in. It is true that in terms of sexual orientation, values, and attitude towards life, you and I are recognized by most people at this moment, but there will always be times in this life when we become aliens. So, at that time, what kind of treatment do we hope to receive?
In high school, when my grades were bad, my dad said to me, you have the right to choose how you live, but you have to be responsible for your choices. This sentence has since become the criterion of my life, and it is also the gist of me to measure the behavior of others. Everyone has the right to choose how to live, and of course one should try not to hurt others, but one cannot be held accountable for their actions that may cause others to feel hurt.
I like that people can choose their own way of life to the maximum extent, from where they live, to what they believe in, and who they love, they can only relate to themselves. But I think it's hard, because everyone has innate responsibilities and burdens, whether it comes from relatives or society or even the country, and the education we receive is constantly strengthening our social identity. Deciding to go against the current is to provoke all this, and giving up your own point of view may mean that you can live more freely in this society.
I have no way of judging which of these two options is better, let alone qualified. But again, all those who face a choice, you have the freedom to choose. As long as you don't deprive others of your rights, no one has the right to deprive you of your rights except yourself.
As I write this, I'm still thinking about that band of light, zoomed out, it's a merging galaxy, but zoomed in, each star is independent and has its own light.
So, this is "MILKY WAY".
