Why rather read than talk?

When he was still a boy of 14, he made love to her, loved her and yet just read to her. He wanted to know her more and wanted her to know him more. But he just didn't know how to talk.

When he was a man with a respectable career as a lawyer, we all expect he be articulate. However, all that he did was still to read for her. Even she was in prison. Even she taught herself there how to write just to send him a request,"write to me". He didn't. No message from him, except his voice of words belonging to others.

For years, he was a kept man. He preferred to read than to talk. All people close to him eventually left him, except his returning daughter. Even the woman who only stayed wiht him for one night noticed, "is there any woman staying here longer enough to know what's going on in your mind". Of course, no.

He was afraid to speak out, to let others know him even a little, especially the part concerning her. She noticed his uncertain and ended her life.

He finally tasted the loss and realized he should talk.
At the end, he started changing by telling his daughter his most unspeakable secret....

No more rather read than talk. Thank god.

As a huge RF fan, I thought his acting in this movie wasn't good enough. The character mike was rather inhibitive. Yet I didn't expected that even when he was alone. While he started recording his reading for Hana, Mike didn't 't show much of emotions. There were no acting....

kate Winslet was awesome in this movie. Expecting her "revolutionary road".

Last, it is definitely a movie for introvert.

It's one of the best movies in my heart. Discuss two extremely profound propositions, one is "the banality of evil"; the other is "silence"

This movie is definitely not completely understandable at a glance. After reading it, it is best to read the article about the movie again. You will definitely gain a lot. At first glance, Hannah played by Kate Winslet is complicated and weird. In fact, she is also a poor person. Her illiterate background has built an icy high wall for her inner world. It is difficult for outsiders to touch it. Even a young and passionate boy can't do it in the first half of the movie. Hannah's coldness And cover up completely destroyed the young man's longing for love. The terrible revenge mentality made his behavior in the back of the movie even more terrible. At first glance, he was affectionate, but he was actually ruthless. He should not bother a strong woman in prison. Cowardly The character is fully revealed, and he never dared to be frank with Hannah again. Ironically, it melted Hannah's ice wall and sent her to hell. After all, she is a person from two worlds, even if Hannah is literate. This gap can't be changed. Since the crime facts cannot be changed, why not open up and talk. What's more, Hannah also understands her own atrocities after literacy and shows remorse. The male protagonist still hasn't grown up and has a paranoid heart. blindfolded
