quietly commit a crime

I was used to watching big action movies, and suddenly got tired of it, so I went to the quiet movie and came out.

"The Bone Collector" ("Human Bone Puzzle"). A very quiet crime movie.

The protagonist is quiet. A police detective who has written N best-selling books and has a good record in handling cases. And a patrolman with a talent for reconnaissance.

He commands, she moves.

Paralyzed by an accident, what should have been a fast and furious action thriller turned into a whisper. Lying in bed, he radioed instructions to her.

The accident destroyed his body but preserved his brain. I don't know if it's fortunate or unfortunate. He used his brain to think about complex cases, and at the same time he thought about the time of his own death. Not wanting every convulsion to increase the likelihood of him becoming a vegetative state, he has opted for euthanasia. If it weren't for this ancient case, he would have died quietly.

She found the scene of her father's suicide. Everything was silently suppressed. The outpouring of emotion was just because it was unbearable.

Criminals are quieter. Use ancient objects, in ancient locations, to commit unknown crimes. Even in the final battle, the only hysteria he showed was bitten between his teeth.

Then, the lively Christmas was dragged far away and the camera was very quiet.

The Bone Collector quotes

  • Amelia: Thelma told me about your plans for your "final transition."

Lincoln Rhyme: Cop to cop, that subject's not open to discussion. Why?... Would you miss me?

Amelia: Well, destiny's what we make it, right?

    Lincoln Rhyme: Touche.

Amelia: Now, you seem to have your reasons for checking out. I just... I would have expected more from someone like you.

Lincoln Rhyme: Well, I might surprise you and... live forever.

Amelia: Nothing you could do would surprise me, Rhyme.

  • Amelia: Shit! Cheney's here.

[puts the evidences into her pocket]

Captain Howard Cheney: You talking to Rhyme on that thing? Give me the radio. Now, listen, Linc. This is Cheney, man. What the hell do you think you're doing? Stealing evidence is a goddamn felony. You know that.

Lincoln Rhyme: To my understanding, there's no chain of evidence voucher.

Captain Howard Cheney: Oh, yeah? Well, I got some news for you. You are not a cop anymore. You understand that? What you are is a fucking meddling cripple. Now, I'm gonna place your little gofer here under arrest. You don't mind that, do ya? Lock her up.

[looks back and finds Amelia gone]

    Paulie: Where'd she go?
