The film is really slow and heavy, but not boring. The characters' dialogue and inner drama fill the entire space. (Friends who are impatient should not watch it...) Since I have no religious belief, my feelings about the film are superficial, but I still feel its impact on Western religious thinking. I believe that religious audiences will Have a deeper experience. It is uncomfortable to watch this film, not because the death of the priest at the end is terrifying, but more about the dialogue, thinking, and behavior of the characters in the film.
