remake

As everyone knows, this film is a remake of a Spanish film "Open Your Eyes". I watched the Spanish version first, and then watched the Hollywood version, and found that the new version is almost exactly the same as the original, to the point that almost every shot is the same. I guess the director of the new version understands that no matter how good the idea is, there is no point in copying it again (if you don’t believe me, try a remake of The Matrix). As a result, Tom's role has been strengthened a lot compared to the original version, and it has almost become his one-man show. The original "creative film" has become the current "acting film".
This movie made me understand what a good actor Tom is, he is handsome, but he doesn't just rely on his looks. His performance showed the characters' psychology in every detail, and the director was also happy to give a minute-long close-up of his face to let him exert his acting skills. As for the original version, I'm not saying that the handsome Spanish guy has no acting skills, but the director didn't give him much room to play, because the original version was based on creativity and script, and didn't emphasize someone's acting skills.
Maybe Tom's too handsome appearance makes everyone ignore his acting skills, but as long as you pay attention, you will find a different Tom, a Tom with outstanding acting skills.

I don’t know if this subject matter is considered vulgar in 2001, but the many editing of the film fully set up suspense, but some of the details are rough, and the ending shot is particularly vulgar, which cannot be separated from the American commercial routine.

The montage flashed back and didn't know what to say, deliberately played tricks, the story was not well told, and Tang Ge's acting skills were only soso, but that face was quite courageous. PC still tastes better in ten years
