more real than fear

It's hard to make a good movie that's almost all about the dialogue between the criminal and the victim. But for a big director like Joel Schumacher, it's a piece of cake.
Many viewers who have seen it have commented that this is a horror movie worth watching. But in fact, I believe it has something deeper than a horror movie.
Stu is an advertising salesman, but always cheating and cheating. Whether it is his wife Caly, his lover Pare, or his little follower Adam, he chooses to use lies to maintain the fragile feelings between each other.
Just after Stu smugly deceived his friends and the editor of the magazine, disaster struck.
When the phone bell rang abruptly, "ring bell bell--", it seemed to herald the coming of this nightmare.
A deep male voice came from the other side of the receiver, threatening Stu not to step out of the booth. Of course, Stu thought the other party was joking at first, and even teased, "If you are an intern or an unknown actor who was fired by me, I will definitely kick you out of this city. ".
This is the beginning of impatience and anger.
But when Stu asked the other party what he was doing now, the other party described it verbatim, which caused a lot of fear to Stu. When the infrared rays on the opponent's rifle shot near Stu's heart, Stu instantly understood what kind of crazy person he was negotiating with.
"You know you're a star now, and ABC is broadcasting you."
"Stu, tell your wife Kelly what you do and think behind her back. You know she loves you so much."
"Oh, Stu. You are always so selfish, someone has to die for you."
These sentences, even in isolation, were torture and ordeal for Stu. Stu's nerves gradually collapsed under such a challenge. He could no longer watch the people in front of him die because of him. In any case, he only hoped that he would bear the pain. Stu slowly understood what it felt like to be deceived. So in the end, I was able to overcome my self-esteem and tell the truth to the people I love. Yes, that's not what snipers are for. The first two targets of the sniper were also the indifferent faces who were wearing masks.
In the end, when he couldn't take it any longer, Stu resolutely walked out of the phone booth, gun in hand, facing the sky.
"Hey! Your target is me!!" In a cathartic tone.
We must have all mistakenly thought the movie was over when Stu fell behind the gun.
But Schumacher didn't give us such a chance. The smart police officer let Stu get a rubber bullet and successfully rescued him from being threatened.
When Stu's body was relieved from the tension, his eyelids were so heavy that his vision was blurred. The low voice and the lonely figure appeared again. He whispered in front of Stu, who was finally overwhelmed by the oncoming sleepiness.
"Ring Lingling--Ring Lingling--"
"Hello..." The
film ends at such an end, leaving a series of space for people to think about. This is the gift that Schumacher brings to us. A little horror, a little blood, and more human struggles.
