I have read "Arctic Circle Lovers" twice (word two years ago), from which I draw an inference that Mi Tan is very good at creating fatalistic tragedies, but none of his other works are pure tragedies.
The story of "Anna in Troubled Times" is halfway through, and some have a hunch that it will end in tragedy. Traveling through time and space, Anna faced the chaotic memories of many women of different ages, all of which ended in death without exception. Whether it was in the painting or the tone of the soundtrack, it was horrific. The end of the film echoes the beginning, but slightly changed. In short, Anna continues to exist as a spiritual symbol of unyielding resistance and the pursuit of freedom.
Thinking too much is not necessarily a good thing, and many situations often arise from overthinking.
Looking back, at the end of "Bull", Peru will be shot, and he even imagined two endings. One is the conventional ending. Peru, like his grandfather, was afraid of death and escaped by luck. On the other side, I wonder if Peru's soul is out of the body, and the dialogue behind is too ambiguous. This is another pair of siblings (half-sisters).
Each film of Mi Tan has a unique story environment, "Cow" is a forest full of magic, "Red Squirrel" is a campsite far away from the city, "Insects of the World" is a grape planting land infested with insects, "Red Squirrel" is a campsite far away from the city "Arctic Circle Lovers" is an arctic village in Finland (ana and otto's self-enclosed small world), and "Lucia Lovers" is an island full of infinite possibilities. What is "Anna in troubled times"? Weird rock caves or Anna's imagination?
Corresponding to this question, there is another one before, who can tell me directly whether there are any animals that are significantly related to the plot in "Lucia Lover". In other words, my memory illusion is of course dolphins under the blue moonlight ("Blue Sea and Blue Sky"...).
If they are paired in pairs, "Cow" and "Arctic Circle Lovers" will be one group (the introduction of the family and actors), and "Red Squirrel" and "Lucia Lover" will be another group (personalized narrative method). The analysis on the spiritual level involves that "Anna in Troubled Times" is closer to "Insects in the World", but the effect seems to be diametrically opposite.
Mi Tan's "Anna Complex" finally broke out in "Anna in Troubled Times". Of course, the complicated feelings about her sister are worth gossip (sorry, if it is a sister, it will be even more speechless. Unfortunately, the word sister cannot distinguish sisters without context. Google didn't get any results for a long time), contact the tribute subtitles dedicated to this and that in the previous work, Mi Tan's family concept is far more serious than imagined.
Even so, I still feel good luck. If Mi Tan didn't arrange the ending of Anna in "Arctic Circle Lovers", wouldn't everyone feel better.
